Journalism students enjoy a camping trip in the Presidio.
2024 has passed, and now that we are getting further into our school year, we should reflect on the past year to see which school event of 2024 was the students and principals’ favorite.
2024 was full of school events, like the Professional Development Day for Teachers on January 8 or the day when Alameda County Flu and COVID Vaccine Clinic went to Montera, but let’s hear the students’ opinion on their favorite event of 2024. The majority of the students that I interviewed say that their favorites were Field Day and various camping trips because they were fun and engaging.
Field Day: The main reason the kids chose this is because it is PE related and having various athletic activities makes it a very enjoyable event, especially if you are an athletic kid.
Camping Trips: This type of event is instant fun and engagement for camping pros and first timers alike. While camping you get to engage with nature and absorb the world around you with your friends, making your experience more memorable and enjoyable. This also applies to the fun factor because there are activities like exploring, s’mores, etc.
With more School Events coming up like the Washington D.C. trip and probably more camping trips, looking at the favorites for 2024 and now in the future we can see the 2025 school event favorites.
