The Montera girls restroom has gone without two out of four working sinks for a couple of months now, with one of them not having a soap dispenser next to it. This is a huge inconvenience, especially for students wanting to get to class on time and avoid the no-pass list.
With low funding from the school board we already lack money for basic supplies, but it goes further with mismanagement and unequal spending throughout education.
Female students state the lack of working sinks leave long lines for hand washing, making them late. The lack of available sinks causes a delay and takes longer than a bathroom break and makes students tardy.
It goes beyond a sink problem; the soap, toilet liners, and toilet paper are often left empty. One student states: “It’s not only inconvenient, but unsanitary.
Ms. Recco says bathroom sinks continue running after she’s done washing her hands and even after she’s left the room. She states: “This is very wasteful and expensive.”
