This season, the Montera girls basketball team was undefeated. They averaged around 35 points a game.
Their team was amazing and the bond was unbreakable. Their teamwork on the court was unstoppable. The way that they work together on defense was crazy. They talked to each other and helped each other out if someone needed help. They ran over to help their teammates fill in their spot.
Here are some of the games they played:
- Arum Prep 21-12
- Aims College Prep 58-6
- Impact Academy 44-10
- East Bay Innovation Academy 35-5
- Berkeley Maynard 27-14
- United For Success they forfeited
- Kipp Bridge 30-10
- Edna Brewer – 35-16
Because Montera won most of their games by wide margins, they just know how they play when they are winning by 20 points. When they were ahead by 20 points they could do full court presses. Instead, they could do half court presses or sometimes they would keep the clock running. If the other team had a really bad skill level. they would let them travel, double dribble and go back court.
Montera girls had a great season and only lost one game and that was the last game of the season.
The girls basketball coach said “They did great. It was a great season and I think it was the most balanced team this season.”
Of all teams in OUSD they got 3rd place for basketball.
