The volleyball season has been going for quite a while and a lot of stuff has happened, so let’s see what has happened this volleyball season. First, we have JV and varsity scrimmages. JV has a lot of potential but they seem to be at a loss for players as there has been at least 2 not coming to games and the rest are inconsistent. JV has been going toe to toe with varsity in scrimmages with them only winning by 5 or less points. If JV worked together and played with communication they would win every game. Varsity has many tall players that can spike and block with power so JV has to combat this with a high vertical.
JV is currently undefeated (not including scrimmages) and had a double header last Saturday, but both teams did not have enough players so we scrimmaged and lost.
The volleyball season is nearing the end as school ends and summer break is just around the corner. There is no volleyball game for JV this week because of the double header. This has made some people on JV disappointed with the schedule and how some teams don’t show up.
The volleyball court at Montera only has one net even after we got new poles due to the metal plates blocking the poles from locking. Our coach said that they will be unlocked either today or Friday. If we have to nets we would have more space and we would be able to have JV on one side and varsity on the other. This would be beneficial because we would be able to do better drills and have more space. I am not 100% that this is true and we will be able to get better space and a new volleyball court but it is very likely.
The volleyball season has been very nice and filled with various people of different heights, race and age. We are still undefeated and hope to stay that way for the rest of the volleyball season. I will report about the volleyball season next year and other sports like football basketball and maybe even soccer.
