Montera Middle School 8th grade students arrived at 6 flags on Friday, April 18 around 11:00. Students were split into groups and met up by the front gates. Once everyone got inside the gates, the chaperone in charge of your group set a time to meet up (around lunch time) and before and after that, you were free to do whatever you wanted. The water rides were closed, but students were able to ride any open rides.
The lines for most rides were extremely long. The Medusa, Joker, Batman, Superman are all roller coasters, some with more than 1 hour wait. The Sky Screamer is not a roller coaster, it is a swing ride but had just as long lines. When interviewed, many students agreed that the lines were too long.
8th grade student Sinclair Rowley said “the line was too long; they should create a better system.” Many students, including Jackson Masuret, said “ there were so many long lines, and Wonder Woman had the longest line I had to wait in.”
All students were told to meet back up together with your group at 5:30, but not everyone was on time. The buses left by 6:15, but this was before a tire on the bus popped. Students on that bus were put onto different buses or into an uber with a chaperone. The buses arrived back at Montera between 7:00-7:30, later than expected.
After interviewing many students, most people had a lot of fun but because of long lines, they were not able to go on more than around an average of 2-3.
