Three Easy, at Home Recipes
You might find yourself in a situation where you’re responsible for feeding yourself, perhaps you’re home alone or the only person awake in the morning. So here are three simple, quick and easy recipes.
Canned Fish on Toast
Ingredients:
- 1 tin of canned fish (I used sardines, mackerel is another good option)
- 1 slice of toast
- Butter
- Salt
Instructions:
- Toast the slice of bread
- Butter the toast
- Drain the can of fish
- Place the fish onto the toast and, if necessary, spread out using a knife
- Enjoy!
Tuna Salad Sandwich
Ingredients:
- Tuna salad (which you can either make yourself or buy premade)
- 2 lightly toasted slices of bread
- Mayonnaise
- A leaf of lettuce (optional)
Instructions:
- Lightly toast the slices of bread
- Lightly spread mayonnaise on the inside of the toast
- Spread the tuna salad on the pieces of toast
- (optional) Add a leaf of lettuce between the two slices of bread to keep the structure of the sandwich
- Assemble and enjoy!
Buttered Noodles
Ingredients:
- Pasta (portions vary, for one person a couple handfuls should do)
- Butter (for a small portion 1-2 tbsps work well)
- Water (varies depending on pot size and portioning, for a small portion 4 cups is fine)
- Salt
Instructions:
- Boil water in a small-medium saucepan over high heat
- While waiting for the water to boil, add a sprinkling of salt to the water
- Once boiling, add pasta and turn the heat down to medium
- Stir occasionally
- Once the pasta is done cooking (often times the recommended time to cook the pasta is stated on the packaging, if not then occasionally checking to see if the pasta is al dente or to your liking)
- Drain the pasta
- Add the pasta and butter to a saucepan of stir until the butter is completely melted
- Serve and enjoy!
